Here is a link to a San Diego 10 News Report featuring Executive Director Estela de Los Rios. The segment draws attention to one of the most dangerous area of the border, just south of Boulevard. In this area women and children victims of human trafficking are being raped and, in some cases, even killed. The video shows an area littered with girls’ clothing and undergarments-trophies left behind by their attackers. Unfortunately, these rapes are largely ignored in part because victims are scared to come forward. This tragic phenomenon underscores the need for strategies to identify and reach victims of human trafficking.
